Who we are

L'Escale Champions Group (ECG) is a community organisation supporting migrants from African communities across the UK, more particularly in Salford, Manchester. Our work focuses on inclusion, empowerment, and community development, with a strong emphasis on supporting women, girls, and young people.

Who we support

We support African migrants living in Manchester, Lower Broughton and Salford in particular, including women and girls from migrant communities, young people and families, and individuals facing social, economic, or cultural barriers.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of African migrants living in Manchester, Salford in particular, by relieving poverty and distress, promoting integration, and empowering individuals through education, skills development, health promotion, and cultural engagement.

We work to support women, girls, and families to build confidence, independence, and strong community connections.

Our Vision

A fair, inclusive and empowered society where migrants, African in particular, especially women, girls, and young people are supported to live with dignity, access opportunities, and fully participate in life in the UK.

Our Values

We believe everyone deserves equal access to opportunities, services, and support, regardless of background, gender, or immigration status.

We are committed to promoting equality and opportunity for girls and women by providing skills training and capacity-building programmes, promoting access to education and lifelong learning, supporting confidence, leadership, and independence, and delivering targeted services for women and girls within the community.

We educate and engage girls, women, and young people through after-school and leisure-time educational activities, youth development programmes, African cultural events celebrating music, heritage, dance, and arts, and community events that promote understanding, pride, and cohesion.

We support members of our community to integrate fully into UK society by facilitating access to apprenticeships and vocational training, supporting educational pathways, promoting health awareness and healthy lifestyles, and building confidence, employability, and social networks.

Our Aim and Objective

We aim to relieve poverty and distress among African migrants in Manchester by providing advice and information services, offering interpretation and translation support, supporting individuals with housing-related issues, promoting health and wellbeing, organising leisure and recreational activities, and supporting social integration into UK society.
